Help needed Gardening and House sitting Winter 2025/Spring 2026

Location: Tralee, Ireland

We have a very large garden that needs help all year round. I am looking for a couple or a very independent resilient solo traveller to house sit, care for our two very lovely small dogs and to care for our chickens. We need help with the making the gardens ready for winter and some small carpentry projects. Realistically this would suit a couple in the winter months looking for a retreat in rural Ireland. A car would also be useful as we are not close to a city. There is a small very comfortable modern stone house on the property, with a fully fitted kitchen, TV, Wifi , all the subscription channels. Separate Laundry. large beautiful waterfront gardens to enjoy. Next to the world famous Tralee Golf Course.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

Ideally a house sit would be starting in December or needed for periods of time in the months of January, and March. 2026 ( February is covered already) - You would need to be able to assist on daily gardening and maintenance tasks ( nothing technical, mainly creative and DIY painting etc.... Also care for two very engaged dogs, they need a small daily walk and feeding twice a day. The are affectionate and will want to follow you everywhere. These dogs are not outdoor farm dogs, you need to be a total dog lover and include them in your daily life / give them time and affection. The House sit is not a typical 5 hour per day arrangement, its reactive and dependent on weather and your particular skill set some days there wont be anything to do.. but for your exercise and well being you should be walking the dogs at least one hour 7 days a week. We will hopefully receive applications from people who can work with wood as I have some creative projects I would love some help with. I need a flexible very mature couple who are not looking for a party lifestyle. No smoking and visitors are not permitted. I would recommend you have a car or are very comfortable being in a remote location.

LIVING ARRANGEMENT

House sitting and some gardening In exchange for a really comfortable luxury private waterfront house accommodation, including all heating and electricity costs. Food cost is not included as you will be on your own so self catering is a better solution.
