Join a Sustainable Project in Barcelona: Building a Self-Sustaining Home!!

Location: Barcelona, Spain
Hello! It's Elio, and I'm thrilled to share our sustainable project with you. Even though we don't have land or a set date yet, we aim to create a unique space near Barcelona.

**ACCOMMODATION:**

Initially, we plan to use camper homes (your own). The land will be in the province of Barcelona, offering a unique experience combining rural living with the possibility of visiting the city, although we haven't purchased it yet.

You can come with a tent (I have two), but it's not advisable if the project starts around these dates.

**FOOD:**

We need volunteers, even in the kitchen! While I can cook, I'm open to vegetarian or vegan suggestions that benefit everyone. We'll discuss meals together, and I'll cover general expenses, except for specific needs.

**FULL PROJECT:**

I outline our project, including domes, green areas, orchards, sustainable water and electricity systems, and more. Ideas and collaboration are welcome. The project's essence is an open, respectful, and emotionally supportive space.

- Camping or parking area.
- Relaxation area for everyone.
- Three domes (2x50m² + 1x30m²).
- Two fences (animal protection).
- Three circular trenches around the domes to prevent flooding and collect water.
- Two water collection tanks.
- Solar panels (and/or windmills if found).
- Two orchard areas.
- A pond or place where purified water flows and cycles.
- Installation of electricity and water.
- Purification filters before water reaches homes and afterward for greywater. They will consist of natural materials, purifying and aromatic plants.
- Two orchard spaces.
- Three additional trenches, carrying rainwater from the domes to the pond, with an influent where greywater will pass through and filter before reaching the flow.
- Natural lining (adobe and stones) for the trenches.
- Water gathering space. It could be used for irrigation and enriching more areas.

This is the "guide project." From here, all kinds of ideas and collaboration are accepted. Except for my mother's area, I want an open, free, non-invasive space of respect, collaboration, and emotional support.

**STAGES:**

From arriving at the site to creating the home, including fences and structures, the project will develop collaboratively. My mother's safety is a priority, and I'm looking for committed and passionate volunteers.

1. I'll arrive at the site with the van to welcome you and receive materials. Accommodation is just the land until we create a sleeping space. Throughout the project, I'll be a support, not a guide. We'll need your input to keep everything on the right track.

2. We'll start with a fence to prevent the rescued cats from getting lost. Simultaneously, we should set up a structure for communal living. Any ideas? I was thinking of an improvised yurt or the dome itself, but you probably have more ideas than I do.

3. In the first days, after getting to know each other and outlining the project, we begin. We'll need people who can improvise a suitable space, install the fence, and set up the first residence. My idea is to order a Dome Kit as soon as possible to assemble it. Afterward, we'll continue with the next dome or adobe house. I'm open to improvisation in my life, but my mother, Jenny, isn't. At 63 years old, with knee arthritis and several rescued cats, she needs security, and I must respect that.

4. Once my mother and the cats can settle, the project is no longer tied to deadlines. I'll manage.

5. We need to understand our needs at all times, create zones, have time for activities, and maintain complete honesty and support. As Nina Simone says, "I may not have everything, but I have myself and all that I can give." You're more accustomed to this than I am, so let's talk.

**CYBER-GROUP:**

A Telegram or Facebook group will facilitate communication. It's an option, not an obligation, to address questions and get to know other volunteers.

**ROLES:**

Numerous roles are available, from reception and coordination to construction activities, cooking, event organization, and more. Everyone is welcome to contribute their skills!
