Location: Miren, Slovenia
Nova Vas Peace House is a project aiming to bring together people from across the globe under one roof, to share ideas, creativity, and life. To connect, to nest, and to knit. It is a residency where (art) is in brackets.There is no fixed structure, and what is pursued may take many forms. This is a space where visitors, with their unique skills, inspirations, and ideas, can actively participate in defining what happens here.
We are the two who started this project:
* Bojan Brecelj photographer and storyteller. From his teenage years, he has been networking, creating, and collaborating with communities, a Start-UP person at heart.
* Ivana Petan ceramic artist with extensive geomancy practice to share.
Location: Nova Vas (New Village), Slovenia, on the border with Italy, close to Nova Gorica. This is where Eastern and Western Europe meet, and where Mediterranean and European cultures interact and merge.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
It is a house - a big house - with two studios, two guest rooms accommodating a minimum of 5 + 2 visitors, as well as unfinished parts of the house and surrounding areas.
We need help with maintenance and simple construction tasks, such as painting, along with communication and networking activities and assisting with post-production of photography projects.
The work depends on timing, your skills, and your interests, making each stay flexible and tailored.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
The house has a kitchen and dining space shared by all visitors. There is a guest living room with a bathroom and an attic sleeping area that accommodates five beds. A small apartment for two includes a living area, sleeping space in the attic, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Additionally, there is a guest bathroom with two showers and a toilet.
