PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Formerly based in Belgium, I decided to leave the assisted comfort of urban life to settle in central Slovakia, at the foot of the Carpathians. This project is not a contemplative retreat, but a concrete attempt to live in coherence with physical reality. I live on 4 hectares of land, between forests and meadows, where I am building a daily life based on sobriety and self-reliance.
I live in a caravan and spend my time taking care of my animals and bees, planting and maintaining fruit trees, gardening, harvesting and cooking. I think that most people should be lectured on grand ecological concepts, but I prefer action. Repairing a tool, splitting wood for the winter, or milking by hand are gestures that, to me, hold more value than any sweet illusion or talk about the "world of tomorrow."
I am straightforward, hands-on, and determined. I value self-deprecation and frankness. I have no patience for laziness or conventional hypocrisy, but I am loyal and protective toward those who are sincere in their approach.
What I can share with you
If you pass through here, I can offer you a glimpse into what it truly means to "step out of the system." I can share practical skills:
Maintenance and Repair: Diagnosing a breakdown on power tools (chainsaw, brush cutter) or keeping technical equipment in working order.
Working with the Land and the Living: Caring for animals, processing milk, and managing beehives naturally.
The Art of Anticipation and optimisation: Learning to foresee your needs (wood, stocks, energy) according to the seasons.
What I expect from travelers:
Trustroots is a sharing network, but my door does not open for tourists looking for a free holiday. I am interested in meeting people who:
Are lucid about the dead-end of the current industrial model.
Are not afraid to get their hands dirty and do physical work.
Prefer silence and raw nature over urban agitation.
Are capable of staying focused on a task without needing constant external stimuli.
I speak French, English, and some Slovak. Exchanges happen over a meal made from farm products, in frankness and simplicity.
The Location
The land is isolated, quiet, and wild. It is a perfect place to settle down and observe the real rhythm of the seasons. We drink spring water and live by the sun. If you are looking for entertainment or a trendy "wellness" retreat, you are in the wrong place. If you want to confront the facts and learn how to be independent, you are welcome.We wake up and go to bed with sun and seasons; it's about living here, fully, and embracing all kinds of tasks and routines.Currently, I can host van lifers, or offer to stay in the outside kitchen (there is a roof and a camp bed).
