We are a small ecological family run campsite in Connemara, located directly on the Atlantic with our own private beach. The next town is Clifden, which is ca. 10km away and the nearby village of Claddaghduff is 2.5km away. Our campsite was built on the idea to have privately spaced appart pitches with standard facilities. We wanted to bring the campers back where camping used to be with campfires in nature. We also rent out tents and one Mobile Home.
We run the campsite on an ecological basis and try to bring accross to the campers how to have a holiday with a minimal impact on the environment. In 2014 we have been awarded the Gold Standard for this from Ecotourism Ireland. We place great emphasis on Customer Care and have that always puts us under lot of pressure when other things need to be done on the site and thats were we need the help.
We are extremely busy in July/August and as there is only the two of us we are in dire need of help during that time. We mostly need help with the cleaning of the facilities and general cleaning around the place. We also rent out tents and one mobile home where we need help getting them ready. We would also need you to get firepits ready and other small jobs.
There is lots to see around Connemara as it is a major tourist destinationand we would be able to give you a bike to get around. There is public transport available from Clifden (10km away) many times a day and from Cleggan (5km away) twice a day. If we have time we can bring you to the bus stop if you want to do any trips. However, we would like to make you aware that we are off the beaten track a bit so have a look in the map so you know what you are getting into.
We have a caravan for accommodation and we offer full board in exchange for 4-5 hours work every day in July and August.
