Who are we?
The C.H.A.D.E.C. (Cooperative of Inhabitants of the Domaine d’Entre-Cœurs) is a participatory eco-hamlet founded in 2019. Located at 680 meters of altitude in the heart of Auvergne, our project combines ecological construction, collective living, and secular spirituality.
We’re building ecological houses with local wood, straw, cellulose, cotton and cork insulation — all without taking out a bank loan.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Current project:
We are currently applying the external lime plaster to our eco-homes. The plaster is a natural mix of hydraulic lime, sand, and water, applied in several layers (scratch coat, base coat, finish). It’s a beautiful, breathable and durable technique rooted in traditional ecological building.
What you’ll learn:
- How to mix and apply lime-based plaster
- Ecological self-building techniques
- Living in community and working cooperatively
- Insights into collective decision-making and simple spiritual practices
You’ll help around 4–5 hours a day and have time to rest, walk in nature, or join group activities like meditation.
