Hi, our non-profit (Environmental consideration Project) is building our first bushcamp in a forest very close to the small town of Sommieres near Montpellier and Nime. The bushcamp will act as a base where the project will run courses. We need an extra pair of hands (so no necessary prior skills, just willingness to get stuck in and help). You can be taught all the necessary skills. The build will consist of: decks, roofing, furniture, permaculture garden, plunge pool, water filtering system, showers, toilets. Your are guaranteed to learn a great deal and have great fun. the location is in a quiet area of forest the project has just bought. The local town of sommieres (5 minutes on bicycle track) has a busy weekend and night market and many sights within. The more well known towns of Nimes and Montpellier are a short bus ride from Sommiers. In your spare time there are many things to do such as fishing, visiting the local sights, venturing into the mountains (45 minutes by bus) and many more things.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
we are fairly flexible but have a deadline to get the build completed. you must be able to lend your hands to at least 5 half days a week to make it worthwhile.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
you would be camping as with everyone else on the build site. the town is a short distance away. there is a shower and toilet already in place and you would have access to solar electricity for charging things like phones and camera etc. the site has a bore hole on it. the site is in the forest so shaded and full of birdlife.
