Hostel 1 by Rules in Sofia/My name is Alex, and I am the manager of a small, quiet hostel located in the very center of Sofia, within walking distance of most of the citys main attractions.
We are looking for responsible and calm volunteers to help us with daily hostel operations. Tasks include guest reception, cleaning, bed preparation, and helping create a friendly but peaceful atmosphere in the hostel. Occasionally, we also organize joint activities with guests.
Important: This is not a party hostel. We have many rules, especially regarding silence and cleanliness. All guests and volunteers are informed about these rules in advance. If you are looking for a social or party-oriented place, this hostel will not be a good fit.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
25 hours per week
5 hours per day, 5 days a week
2 full days off per week
Tasks include:
Cleaning: Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas
Housekeeping: Changing bed linens and general upkeep
Reception: Check-ins, check-outs, and guest assistance
We have strict expectations regarding working hours and task execution.
You must: Respect the exact start and end time of your shift
Follow instructions precisely
Perform tasks the same way every shift after being trained
We do not require more than 25 hours per week, but we expect full responsibility and consistency during those hours.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
Accommodation:
You will receive a bed in a shared dorm room (with other volunteers).
Bed linen & towels:
Provided. You are responsible for keeping them clean and changing them when needed.
Kitchen:
Fully equipped and free to use.
Food:
Basic food products are provided for self-cooking (eggs, potatoes, pasta, bread, onions, garlic, jam, spices, etc.).
Laundry:
Washing machine (7 kg) with detergent included free to use once per week.
Internet:
High-speed Wi-Fi suitable for remote work.
Common areas:
Living room with shared Netflix and PlayStation.
