Searching for English teacher in scenic rural village

Location: Basantapur, Tamaphok, Eastern Region, Nepal
Dear volunteer,

Basantapur is a quiet village among the foothills of the Himalayas, with a population of only around 5,000 people.

Sitting atop a ridge there are scenic views of the valley, and during sunrise you can see Kanchenjunga and Makalu, the 3rd and 5th highest mountains in the world. Some treks also begin in Basantapur.

After a career as a schoolteacher for the government, I opened Basanta Sadan, a school for children in 1998. Today it has over 400 students.

So far we have had 9 volunteers teach English at our school, providing a place to stay and food. 3 were from Canada, 3 from USA, and 3 from Taiwan. One of them taught science and math, although it was in English.

We are searching for teachers, particularly to teach English, willing to stay for at least 1 month. Just like the previous teachers, we can provide a place to stay and food.

If you are interested, please contact our school's land line at +977 0264 02055, or my cell phone at +977 9842 41 5184.

You can visit Basanta Sadan's website at:
