Welcome to our farmstay and house-sitting opportunity in an eco-village focused on holistic healing in the Himalayas. Here, we embrace the principles of Mind, Movement and Mountain (3M). Though we're still in the development phase, we're eager to offer a unique experience at our Forest Retreat House, nestled amidst lush green forests. Please note that a fully furnished retreat schedule is not provided! This opportunity involves house-sitting and engaging in forest-farm-fish keeping, co-creating experiences with us.
I am a graduate of Schumacher College, UK, with a Master's in Mind, Movement, and Ecology, and my second Master's is in Applied Ecology from Evenstad, Norway. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at Agriculture and Forestry University, with interests in big cats, holistic healing, and regenerative tourism. I'll be present on weekends and holidays to bring various Ayurvedic herbs to the farm. My brother Bipin, wife Binita, and mother Narayani will guide you through Nepali cuisine and ceremonies. Occasionally, you may engage in playful activities or babysitting with our four-year-old son, Binayak, who enjoys catching dragonflies and grasshoppers!
Located in the tourist hub of Pokhara, the villagers are accustomed to volunteers. There are small grocery stores nearby, and while the house lacks a freezer, the kitchen is well-equipped. We grow vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, and spinach, and look forward to expanding our farm with volunteer support.
Immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance, where the sounds of crickets and the earthy scent of Nepali village life provide a restful atmosphere. This opportunity offers a chance to experience rural life, engage in self-reflection, and enjoy a digital detox.
We are developing a holistic Ayurvedic healing center and have minimal fieldwork at present. We invite volunteers to join us at our eco-village home for a retreat-like experience, reconnecting with nature and recharging your spirits. During your stay, you'll engage in activities like house-sitting, fish feeding, and spiritual practices, all while living in a serene, rural environment.
