WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Volunteers at Wildmex take part in a variety of hands-on activities across different areas:
-Help in the house: Keep shared spaces clean, organized, and comfortable by supporting daily chores such as cleaning common areas, maintaining kitchens and bathrooms, and helping with basic gardening.
-Help in the boutique: Assist with organizing merchandise, restocking items, keeping displays tidy, and ensuring the space is clean and welcoming for guests.
-Help at the surf shop: Support daily operations by organizing surfboards, cleaning equipment, maintaining storage areas, and helping keep the shop in great condition.
- Eco-projects: Contribute to environmental efforts through beach clean-ups, trail cleaning, and the construction and maintenance of mountain bike trails, helping protect and preserve the natural surroundings.
This variety of tasks creates a balanced experience between indoor responsibilities and outdoor activities, depending on your profile and skills.
Volunteers are expected to contribute 20 hours per week, distributed throughout the week. Days off may vary depending on the schedule and project needs.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
Volunteers stay in shared accommodation designed to encourage community living. Dormitories are shared with people of the same gender, while common areas are mixed. Rooms include individual bunk beds and fans (no A/C). The house offers hot water, Wi-Fi, a shared kitchen, water filter, hammock area, and swimming pool, as well as access to a washer and dryer.
House rules are based on respect and coexistence. Volunteers are expected to keep all shared spaces clean and organized, clean up after themselves, and contribute to a positive and respectful environment. Quiet hours should be respected, and consideration towards other volunteers and staff is essential. Each volunteer is responsible for their own food, personal items, and daily needs.
Please note that there are multiple animals (domestic and non-domestic) on the property. This is not the place for you if you have allergies to cats/dogs or fear of wildlife (spiders, snakes, frogs, etc.).
It is a beautiful place for those who love the outdoors and value nature. Access to nightlife is non-existent. We are an 8-minute walk through the jungle to the best beach for beginner and intermediate surfers in the area.
Access to other towns is easy by public transportation during the day. Groceries can be purchased at the nearby convenience store, in neighboring towns, or ordered online.
INCLUSIONS:
• Free access to surfing equipment.
• Access to surfing lessons and excursions (depends on the availability and that doesn't affect your schedule).
• Free shuttle to Sayulita (depends on the availability and that it doesn't affect your schedule).
IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not host couples, and we don't allow parties, drugs, smoking, or anything related on our premises, offices, vehicles, etc. We want nothing to do with that lifestyle. If you are interested in that, please do not apply for this position.
