We are looking for volunteers with a background in Education, Social Work, or Psychology, not simply to lend a hand, but to help shape the future of our work. Your knowledge, training, and experience can play a vital role in developing our projects from the ground up. We need help for several for our projects, like 1) the Social Welfare and Wellbeing Centre, 2) Homework Support Programme and 3) Resilience Training Programme.
1) We are in the early stages of establishing a Social Welfare and Wellbeing Centre a youth centre and safe, supportive space where children, young people, and their families can access guidance, learning opportunities, and emotional support.
We are seeking knowledgeable and passionate individuals who can contribute to the development of our mental health and wellbeing programmes and activities. By sharing your expertise and working closely with our local team, you will help strengthen the project, ensuring it meets the needs of the community and creates a lasting, positive impact.
2) We are running an afterschool homework support programme at two different locations within our community. We are looking for more hands on board that can help with lesson planning, guidance during homework support and educating our team on topics such as learning developments, ADHD, autism, dyslexia and other relevant information.
3) Be involved in our resilience training programmes and help develop the needed content together with our local team for our workshops, programmes, community events, you name it. Think resilience training, drug awareness, addiction, teenage pregnancy, anything that helps our community learn, grow, and stay safe.
4) You could also be involved in any of the following:
*Provide guidance and input on how to improve our current projects;
*Train our staff members on various skills to improve their work;
*Support our local team with shooting and editing of promotional videos;
*Help us tell our story, not with fancy words, but with real stories that show the work we do, the kids we help, and the difference your time can make;
*We need volunteers who can sit down with us and help turn our ideas into real, written project proposals. If you know anything about fundraising ,writing grant applications, putting together appeal letters, running online campaigns, or even just brainstorming creative ways to raise money, the kind that institutions and donors actually say yes to, you are welcome to join us;
*Or can you support us with improved report writing, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, implementation plans, and project documentation? As our Foundation continues to grow, we want to strengthen our systems, measure our impact, and present our work clearly to partners, donors, and stakeholders;
*Have you managed a team before? Are you good at communication, team management, HR, scheduling, task tracking, financial record keeping, you name it? Help us set up simple yet practical systems for our office team.
*We are also looking for volunteers with experience in construction, building, architecture, structural engineering, painting, plumbing, electricity, renovation work, landscaping and gardening or contracting. There is still a lot of work to be done with our Social Welfare and Wellbeing Centre and renovations going on at our office and the rest of the compound premises. Whether you are skilled with your hands, experienced in planning and design, or simply passionate about building and improving spaces, your knowledge and ideas can make a real impact.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
We would like the volunteer to come for a minimum of three weeks, preferably 6 to 8 weeks or longer so your contribution can make a meaningful impact. We would ask the volunteer to work for 24 hours a week.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
We offer one lunch a day (we cook for our staff daily).
We have two rooms with a double bed and private shower available, however the double bed can be replaced by a bunk bed.
In addition, we have a sitting area and self-contained kitchen available, which would be shared in case there are also volunteers in the other room. There is also space to sit at the balcony or at the rooftop.
