In the framework of the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers initiative. Opportunity exists with the Good word Society under Ministry of Culture of Kingdom of Bahrain, for International volunteers above 18 years old concerned in World Heritage preservation.

Volunteers are invited to work on a variety of programs from (15-26 / November /2014) in (Qal’at al-Bahrain) which is an impressive Portuguese fort and one of the most historically significant places in the region. The site was the capital of Dilmun, one of the most important ancient civilizations. It contains the richest remains inventoried of this civilization, which was hitherto only known from written Sumerian references.
The volunteers will be involved in a campaign with opportunity to choose from a wide range of assignments for maintenance and upkeep of the Fort with the help of specialists. A seminar and an exhibition will be conducted to inform the volunteers about the history of the fort and its role in the region.

The volunteers will also participate in workshops and field visits to some historic monuments and heritage sites in the capital, Manama, promoting and raising the awareness of the importance of World Heritage preservation to the local population.
