Volunteers wanted for immigrant shelter in southern Mexico.

Location: Train Station, Tenosique, Mexico
La 72 is an migrant shelter in the state of Tabasco in Mexico. Located 60kms from the Guatemalan border, La 72 is the first point where Central American undocumented migrants board La Bestia or The Beast, the cargo train that takes them to the US border in search of the American Dream.
La 72 gives the migrants a place to rest, eat, receive medical attention, legal advice etc while they wait for the next train to depart. La 72 provides humanitarian support to the migrants and the shelter is part of a network of shelters on the migrant trail through Mexico.
La 72 is looking for dedicated volunteers to help in daily activities such as registration of new arrivals, food preparation, medical attention etc. No previous experience necessary however some Spanish is needed since all communication is done in Spanish. Food and accommodation is provided.
