The community outreach is our signature program that has been transforming lives of older persons for years! Our program is dedicated to improving the lives of older persons through:
Befriending: Pairing caregivers and volunteers with older persons for companionship and support
Medical Care where we conducting vital sign checks, diagnosing diseases, and providing medication and referrals.
Health Education by offering community talks and health sessions to promote healthy living
Socialization by organizing games, activities, and shared meals to foster community and 🔒[Complete verification to view link] voluhteers will also get a chance of visiting our caregivers training school and the older persons home.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
This program brings together international volunteers, caregivers, and older persons in Luweero District, Uganda, for a unique community outreach and befriending experience. The first days volunteers will visit our training school of caregivers to train as caregivers or be visiting lecturers to train our caregivers. The volunteers will then spend a day at the home of older persons at The Aged Family Uganda.
Volunteers will depart from The Aged Family Uganda's home and travel to Luweero District, where they will be accommodated at a selected hotel.
Volunteers will be paired with older persons in the community, spending a day at their homes, studying their needs, and exploring ways to address them. Transportation to the older persons' homes will be provided. Each evening, volunteers will gather to evaluate their visits and share experiences at the hotel.
The befriended older persons and others will be invited to a conference featuring:
Health talks and medical camp.
Free salon services (haircuts and nail care)
A meal a day with older persons
Games and activities tailored to older persons' interests.
The stakeholders shall be the older persons and the community leaders
On the final day, volunteers will spend a night at The Aged Family Uganda's home, where they will engage in activities of daily living and provide care to the residential older persons.
Additional Opportunities,volunteers will also have the chance to:
Visit other organizations in Uganda that provide care services to the elderly.
Explore Uganda's natural beauty, including the River Nile, mountains, Lake Victoria, and game parks
At the end of the program, volunteers will depart for their home countries, having made a meaningful difference in the lives of older persons in Luweero District.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
At The Aged Family Uganda's home, volunteers will be accommodated in self-contained single rooms. We will provide:
- Breakfast
- Two meals per day
- Two break teas
We will cater to volunteers' meal preferences according to our ability. During community outreach and site visits, volunteers will be responsible for their own accommodation and food costs. However, we will select affordable and reasonable options.
Additional Services
The Aged Family Uganda will cover:
- Inland and airport pickup costs
- Simple medication and first aid
We strongly advise volunteers to secure medical insurance to ensure their well-being during their stay.
