The Victory Educational Center

My name is Jacob Mwangangi muthui ,Am the Founder of The Victory Educational Center Website which Aims at Assisting the vulnerable and needy children from Poor background to have their basic education catered for and also to assist them further their studies .The School started as a Religious project but to some point the Religion withdrew its support and it is at this point where i found it worthy to look for some assistance from good friends,Wellwishers and people of Good heart to help these kids. The center is situated at Mackinnon Road Along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

THE HISTORY OF VICTORY EDUCATION CENTER

As stated before the school was in the run of a kind of Religious group who were on their mission in conducting a free HIV/Aids awareness. In mid weeks
and weekends they were conducting a kind of Service due to their religious beliefs and in most cases their service was filled up with young children.After sometimes they came to realize that most of children had not been attending learning activities.When they interrogated,they found that children had difficulty to attend school due to distance they have to cover to access the school which was about 3 kilometers. Secondly the living hardships makes majority of the residences not to afford all what is required for their kids to be retained in the few available school, most of them live a hand to mouth life.Thus it was very dufficult for those children at a age of 4 years to access learning.This pushed them to start a temporary classes so as the kids to have somewhere where they could quencher their education thirsty.And as the population kept on increasing day after day they saw the urge of it being an education center and we ended up naming it The Victory Educational which
is situated along Nairobi- Mombasa highway at Mackinnon Road, Kwale county .

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

1.We are looking for volunteers to assist in Establishing and constructing permanent Classrooms for our children.With the available Resources in our community
2.We are also looking forward to have people of good heart to connect water to the center as water is a very basic need for children
3.We will also be happy to have some volunteers to provide us with learning resources(stationaries),
4.We are also delighted to inform that we will be glad if someone can volunteer in language exchange and teach our learners foreigh languages like spanish,Germany and French.
5.We also have an active Porridge program due to our young kids who cannot sustain the hunger upto lunch time,Any volunteer who can Help in this too can boost our Little we normally have.

The volunteers are only supposed to be in the center from monday to friday at least 4 to 5 hours but no restriction if they decide to stay longer.

LIVING ARRANGEMENT

We are providing a free accommodation and all meals per day,
We only have African meals.but Volunteers are free to make arrragements if they want to cook meal of their desire

OTHER BENEFITS FOR VOLUNTEERS
1.Volunteers will have the chance to learn many kenyan culture as the center is in a cross mopolitant area.
2.Volunteers will also have a chance to visit the FAMOUS MAASAI community for they are located just a stone throw from us.
3.We are located near Curio shops..Thus giving our volunteers opportunities to visit them when they wish.
4.During their free time they can Organise for their safaris and visit places like,
a.The Famous Tsavo game park.
b.The Fort jesus and Gedi ruins.
c.The warm beaches of Diani and others along the coast.
5.Volunteers Also have their chance to give to the community what they can based on their professionality or their field of interest. Volunteers can
a.Assist in Health matters as it a major problem.
b.Help in Naturing Talents like Football and Music.
c.Help in Educating the community in the awareness of Global Environmental changes among many.

OTHERS
1.We have limited internet
2.We do not have well Power( electricity supply) so volunteers can carry their power backups.
3.Volunteer Accomodations are not located within the premises,But If volunteers chooses to be within us is not objected.

NB 1.Volunteers are not supposed to expect much from us because we are just laying down our foundations.we are just at step 1
NB 2. We are near the eve of game reserves and in sometimes we have free visit of Elephants thus giving our volunteer a chance to see some during some Evenings,,, though not a common case.
