Support Street Children in Bukoba Tanzania

Location: Bukoba, Tanzania
Hello, Hola, Jambo!
This is a small, not-for-profit children’s rights organization located in Bukoba. Our primary focus is on assisting children and young people who live in high-risk environments, particularly on the street. We continuously try to change the often-unbearable living conditions of our beneficiaries. Furthermore, we cooperate with local schools, social welfare officers, and other NGOs as well.

1. Street Children and Young Youth Project
We visit the local streets to assess their condition, teach the children some subjects, conduct sports and games, provide first aid, and speak to them to find an opportunity to encourage them off the streets and reunite a child with the family. We then create a file with background information for every child accounted for, which helps us identify their needs, locate any newcomers, assist them, and refer them to the applicable services.

Our current focus is to improve the conditions of young people's and children's livelihoods by providing them with soft and technical skills for professions such as carpentry (woodwork), welding, computer skills, and business skills, along with self-awareness. This helps improve their ability to get better job opportunities, resume school, and connect with shelters and families. Moreover, the organization provides literacy lessons for those who do not know how to read and write. We need your experience in employability and your ability to turn ideas into viable jobs or create jobs from surrounding challenges.
Additionally, we helped initiate a program that identifies children and young people based on their talent or skill, which will help them become employed and get off the streets.
