The Mmanze Centre for Rural Development and Training (MACERUDET) is a community based organization working with the socially and economically needy people of rural Uganda to improve their standards and conditions of living. Founded in 1987, the mission of Macerudet is to work with rural communities to alleviate poverty, ignorance, disease, and illiteracy through implementing sustainable community based development programs.

Providing good healthcare to the community is one of the priority programs of Macerudet. Macerudet needs volunteer health workers to work at their Busaawa Mmanze Health Center. Volunteer health workers would work at the local health centre to mobilise the community to practice good home environment sanitation as well as attend to minor health problems.

Volunteers will work in partnership with the local medical officers at the Busaawa Mmanze Health Center. Macerudet will accept a variety of volunteers including students, professionals and retirees. The tasks undertaken will dependent on their level of experience and qualifications. Volunteers may include, but are not limited to:
1-opticians
2-dentists
3-midwives
4-nurses
5-clinical officers
6-medical registration records officers
7-water and home environmental mobilizers
8-public health officers

Macerudet recognizes and appreciates the services of seriously committed and dedicated volunteers who have diligently contributed their time, skills, resources, experience and expertize towards the development of the healthcare program.Working hours start from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with break intervals at 10.00 am to 11 00 am for break and from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm for lunch.Preferable length of stay is at least three months.Working days are from monday to friday and weekends and national public holidays are free days for volunteers .Accommodation is at our volunteer house where volunteers can stay in single or shared rooms.Bathrooms and latrines are outside the house.Meals are served three times a day from break fast to lunch and dinner.We serve mainly our local food including fruits and water.
