PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a nationally registered, not for-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) headquartered in Fort Portal Tourism City and Kabarole District, Western Uganda.

PLANEs mission is to transform the lives of disadvantaged populations in Uganda through empowerment programs, human rights advocacy, health promotion, and literacy campaigns. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable individuals and communities.
Community Education Project:
Volunteering with PLATFORM for the NEEDY Uganda is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children and break the cycle of poverty in Uganda. By participating in our Education and Child Sponsorship program, you can contribute to providing education, meals, healthcare, mentorship, and support to orphaned children, helping them thrive and build a brighter future.
How to Volunteer:
To volunteer with PLATFORM for the NEEDY Uganda, you can choose from various opportunities such as being a Teaching Assistant, providing Mentorship and Life Skills Training, engaging in Community Outreach and Development, or participating in Fundraising and Advocacy efforts. You can also sponsor a child to support their education, meals, and healthcare.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
As a volunteer youll be working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary or secondary school, providing Mentorship, career guidance and counselling and Life Skills Training, engaging in Community Outreach and Development, or participating in Fundraising and Advocacy efforts.
You can work 5-7 hours a day and in the evening you are taken in the tour of tour of Fort Portal Tourism City and on weekends the tour of the Rwenzori region tourist sites such as Chimpanzees and Gorillas in Kibaale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Semuliki National Pak, Hot springs and the cultures .
Preferred Length of Stay
Minimum stay: 2 weeks to allow enough time for settling in and meaningful engagement .You get a Tourist Visa that allows you to stay in the country for six months.
We are also open to longer stays for volunteers interested in taking on bigger projects such as education, health, or capacity building.
