Help teaching the kids and youth in Tanzania

Location: Morogoro, Tanzania
My name is Selly and I am the president of an association.
I am 25 years old and I live in the city of Morogoro in Tanzania, where I was born.
I founded this association two years ago with the aim of promoting access to education for disadvantaged and disabled children in my country and hometown.
Unfortunately, although Tanzania has exceptional wildlife and culture, access to education is marked by significant inequalities.

Approximately 3.5 million school-age children and adolescents are not enrolled in school, and nearly 30% of children aged 5 to 14 are working, 94% of whom are in the agricultural sector.
Additionally, child labor still affects approximately 4.2 million children aged 5 to 17.
Schools for children aged 5 to 18 are fee-paying and often too expensive for the poorest families, which significantly reduces their chances of accessing education.
If you wish to get involved in our project, you are welcome, whether it be for the short or long term.
For the past two years, we have regularly welcomed volunteers of all backgrounds to participate in our project, but also to discover our country, its exceptional wildlife and flora, and to exchange ideas about our culture.

If you wish to participate in our projects, your tasks will include :

- Teaching daily classes to children aged 5 to 16 in subjects such as mathematics, English, history-geography, you main language etc. everyday.

- Participating in the educational program designed to allow each volunteer to invest in a project that corresponds to their knowledge and interests.
Each person will therefore be free to choose the program that suits them best.
However, it is important to note that each volunteer will need to share one day a week with the children with the program they designed beforehand.
This day will be dedicated to educational and fun activities aimed at stimulating the curiosity and creativity of children and also imparting new knowledge to them.
We are open to all types of learning, whether cultural, creative, sporting, or otherwise.

The most important thing is that volunteers are motivated and passionate about passing on their knowledge and skills to children.
Indeed, creativity and the desire to teach are the two key points of this program.
Therefore, we encourage all volunteers to be imaginative and innovative in their teaching approaches to create a stimulating and inspiring environment for the children.
We are convinced that this volunteering experience will be enriching for both the children and the volunteers.
We invite you to fully invest in this program and contribute to the education and development of the children!

- Our fundraising project aims to provide our association with various resources, whether they are financial or material.
You have the opportunity to choose the direction in which you wish to contribute.
However, to promote exchange and create a positive dynamic, it would be particularly interesting to find partners from around the world.
Our goal is not only to raise funds, but also to promote exchange between countries for a noble and important cause.
We are confident that this project can have a significant impact on the lives of the children we help.
We hope that you can join us in this initiative and help us make a difference.

- As you may have noticed, we are deeply committed to sustainable development. We believe in doing our part to protect the environment and preserve our planet for future generations.
One of the ways we put this value into practice is by encouraging all of our volunteers to get involved in environmental causes.
Our school has a large green space that we are always looking to take advantage of. This includes maintaining the garden, creating and maintaining a communal garden, and even starting a small farm to help the school become more self-sufficient and provide food to families in need.
If you're interested, we also encourage volunteers to explore other ways of using the school's land, such as transforming unused areas into sports fields or recreational areas.
We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in our community and beyond.
Within our organization, we strongly believe in equality among children, especially gender equality.
We are committed to promoting these values through all of our actions and projects.

Thanks for considering joining us in our mission!
