Mothers and Children Uganda (MCU) is a community-based organization located in jinja, Jinja, Uganda. We were founded by Bimbasa and Alex with the vision of supporting vulnerable mothers and children in rural communities. Our work is rooted in the belief that every child deserves a safe, healthy, and nurturing start in life, and that empowering mothers is key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
What We Do
Maternal Support: We provide guidance and assistance to mothers, especially single mothers and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through counseling, parenting support, and community-based initiatives.
Child Development: We run programs focused on early childhood education, nutrition, and basic healthcare to give children the best possible foundation for growth and learning.
Community Empowerment: We organize skills-training workshops, awareness programs, and sustainable livelihood projects to help families achieve self-reliance.
Health & Nutrition: We advocate for maternal and child health through nutritional support, health awareness campaigns, and access to safe water.
Education Support: We assist children in accessing school by providing learning materials, mentorship, and a safe learning environment.
