Busoga Young Mothers Foundation (BYMF) is a community-based organization located in Jinja, Uganda, dedicated to empowering vulnerable teenage and young mothers to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. The foundation was established in response to the growing challenges of teenage pregnancy, school dropout, poverty, stigma, and limited economic opportunities affecting young mothers in the Busoga region.
Our mission is to provide holistic support through vocational skills training, education, psychosocial counseling, reproductive health awareness, entrepreneurship development, and livelihood programs. We also support young mothers with parenting skills, financial literacy, and access to savings groups to strengthen their economic independence and improve the well-being of their children.
BYMF works closely with families, community leaders, schools, health facilities, and local government to promote social inclusion, reduce stigma, and create opportunities for teenage mothers to become self-reliant and productive members of society.
Through our programs, we aim to break the cycle of poverty, restore hope, and empower young mothers to achieve sustainable livelihoods while ensuring their children have a healthier and brighter future.
Volunteers will support the activities of Busoga Young Mothers Foundation (BYMF) by assisting with mentoring, life skills training, educational support, vocational training, community outreach, childcare activities, and administrative tasks, depending on their skills and experience.
