Free range pig farm near Carterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand πŸ–

Location: Carterton, New Zealand

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We are a farrow to finish free range pig farm located east of Carterton in the Wairarapa. This farm was started from bare blocks about 5 years ago, and we have been putting in all the infrastructure ourselves. There is plenty to do, from gardening to general DIY on our barn, to assisting with the pig operation.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
We are looking for short stay volunteers, 2 to 3 days, from now until January. It is pretty rough and ready at the moment, but there is a bed, plenty of food, and lots to do. We need help with taming the grass, getting in early hay, weeding, tidying the farm up, and as always, feeding out the pigs. Three-day weekends would be best until late December, but over the holidays, any days are fine.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
Accommodation is basic but comfortable, with a bed provided. Meals are included, and we eat together as much as possible. The work is physical and outdoors, and we are looking for people who are happy to get stuck in and don't mind a bit of rough and ready living.

If you are keen to experience life on a working pig farm in a beautiful part of New Zealand, we would love to have you.
