Farm help in tropical πΏπ΄ North Queensland, Australia
Location: Innisfail, Australia
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone to help out on our farm, located 17 kilometres south of Innisfail and about 100 kilometres south of Cairns, in the beautiful tropical far north of Queensland. This is a stunning part of Australia, with lush rainforests, waterfalls, and the Great Barrier Reef nearby.
We don't smoke, and there will be no smoking on our property. We can't take kids or dogs at this time, as we are not yet set up for them.
We have a mixed diet and are not strictly vegetarian, although we eat vegetarian meals about 3 times a week. We have a home food garden and try to eat from it daily.
On our day off, we go on picnics to the local waterfalls, swimming holes, and stunning tropical beaches. We love showing people this beautiful region. The area is rich with natural beauty, from the misty mountains of the Atherton Tablelands to the crystal-clear creeks and the Great Barrier Reef.
Come and be part of our farm life and enjoy the magic of the tropics. πππ΄
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
We ask for 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. We start at 5.30am and finish by 10.30am to avoid the heat of the sun. The work includes weeding, mulching, building shade houses, and caring for about 100 poultry birds, which we are using to activate the soil. The work is physical and outdoors, but the early start means you have the rest of the day free to relax, explore, or cool off.We don't smoke, and there will be no smoking on our property. We can't take kids or dogs at this time, as we are not yet set up for them.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
Our property is a nature reserve, with 170 acres of lush tropical rainforest set aside for wildlife. We have ample space for you to camp or stay in your own motorhome. Alternatively, we can offer a twin single room in the house. Previous volunteers have assisted with food preparation and helped keep the house clean as part of normal life.We have a mixed diet and are not strictly vegetarian, although we eat vegetarian meals about 3 times a week. We have a home food garden and try to eat from it daily.
