PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Would you like to join us in a friendly seaside hotel on the Promenade in Blackpool? This is the place where the charm of a Victorian hotel meets the enthusiasm and young spirit of international travellers. Here, you can start a career as a general assistant manager, a chef, a designer, a builder, a barmaid or barman, and participate in renovating the hotel and running it.
Blackpool is a seaside holiday destination right in the middle of Great Britain, full of things to do 24/7. It is well connected to cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Lancaster, Chester, York, the Lake District, and charming little rural villages. There are lots of amusements and one of the biggest amusement parks in England. Being in front of the sea means you get to see wonderful sunsets every evening.
We offer 25 hours of work per week, normally 5 hours per day with 2 days off. Alternative arrangements are also possible, and scheduling is flexible and organised weekly.
Academic and language opportunities
Students are very welcome. There are wide possibilities for successfully completing your internship, including official academic internships. This is also an ideal place to practise languages, but be ready for local accents. All helpers, including those who aim to improve their language skills, will be required to speak regularly with guests and customers at the hotel.
We provide bedding and towels, as well as shower gel, shampoo, and other essentials. We also provide all special equipment like gloves, aprons, and overalls. Please bring clothes that you are not afraid to get dirty for cleaning, as well as semi-formal nice clothes for when you assist with guests. Bring your computer or smartphone, as our daily organisation is done online. Remember to take a plug adapter for the UK. A good wind-proof jacket will also be useful, as the seaside is very nice but can be rather windy and cold.
Important to know
The working language is strictly English. Spoken and written English is essential, and a second language is a definite plus. We live in an atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration. Bad, racist, drunken, criminal, or anti-social behaviour, bad language towards other guests or staff, or not following internal hotel standards including food hygiene, deep cleaning, and internal rules of mutual respect and communication strictly in English, are of zero tolerance here.
We can only host adults from 18 years old. If you are a couple, family, or friends, please do not apply, as we do not have the possibility to host groups. Please advise in advance about any health conditions. Citizens of the EU should bring their current European Health Insurance Card. Citizens of other countries are responsible for their own arrangements, including appropriate visas and medical documentation. All volunteers will be ID-checked on arrival. References are welcome.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
We are looking for reliable, honest, friendly, cheerful, and positive people who are fluent with IT and technology. There is plenty to do. Help with repairs and renovations for those who are good at DIY, various repairs around the house, renovation, and decoration. This might include physical work, so please advise in advance about any health conditions. We also need help with cleaning rooms and hotel premises, ironing, cooking and baking, serving breakfasts, and helping in the cafe-bar and front house reception.We offer 25 hours of work per week, normally 5 hours per day with 2 days off. Food and drinks are included, no junk food or alcoholic drinks, but everything for a healthy diet.
