Organic farm in the Sienese hills of Tuscany, Italy 🐑🧀

Our organic farm was started in 1980 and is nestled in the beautiful Sienese hills, surrounded by classic Tuscan landscapes of rolling fields, cypress trees, and distant medieval villages. We have 150 Sardinian milk sheep, which graze on pasture throughout most of the year, except during the coldest winter months when they are kept indoors. Our dairy produces a variety of cheeses, including fresh pecorino, aged pecorino, ricotta, and other traditional types, though cheese production slows down during the winter season.

The farm is also home to a vegetable garden, which provides fresh produce during the growing season, though we do not always manage to be fully self-sufficient. Meals are varied and seasonal, reflecting what is available from the garden and the surrounding area.The work varies depending on the season and the needs of the farm. During the main season, it involves helping with the sheep, assisting in the dairy during cheese production, tending the vegetable garden, and general farm maintenance. During winter, tasks shift more toward caring for the animals indoors, maintaining the farm, and preparing for the next season. The work is physical and requires a genuine interest in farm life. Length of stay is by arrangement, and we are happy to discuss what works best for both sides.We can accommodate one volunteer in a private room. Meals are provided and shared together, and we eat what the farm produces as much as possible. The atmosphere is calm and family-oriented, and we speak both English and French, so communication is easy.

Please note that we live in a very isolated place. The nearest town is a drive away, and there is no public transport nearby. This is perfect for those seeking peace, nature, and a quiet rhythm of life, but it is good to be aware of it before coming. The isolation is part of the charm, and the views are unforgettable 🌿🌞
