PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This farm is situated in the commune of San Miniato, in the heart of Tuscany. It covers 40 hectares, of which 12.5 are vineyard and 6.5 are olive grove. The farm has been certified organic for three years and is now also practicing biodynamic agriculture, so there is a deep commitment to working in harmony with the land and its natural rhythms.
If you come to this farm, you can take part in all the phases of work, which vary according to the season. In winter and spring, there is pruning and care of the growing plants. As the season progresses, the focus shifts to tending the vines and olives, and eventually to the harvest, at which point you can also help with jobs in the wine cellar. It is a full cycle of work, and you will see the fruits of your labour from start to finish.
The farm has experience working with apprentices from South Africa and university students, so they are used to hosting people from different backgrounds and levels of experience. They are welcoming, patient, and happy to teach.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
The work is seasonal and varied. Tasks include pruning, tending the vines and olive trees, harvesting grapes and olives, and helping in the wine cellar during production. The work is physical, outdoors, and deeply connected to the land. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are more important than prior experience, though any background in farming or gardening is appreciated.LIVING ARRANGEMENT
Accommodation is available either in a tent or in a room, depending on what you prefer and what is available at the time. Meals are provided and shared together, with food grown on the farm whenever possible. The atmosphere is relaxed and international, with English, Portuguese, French, and German spoken, so communication is easy regardless of where you come from.
