Farm stay in Pignano, Tuscany – organic farming and permaculture 🌿🐴

Pignano is a farm of 270 hectares, of which 100 are woodland, situated at 500 metres altitude with a stunning view of Volterra and the hills beyond. On a clear day, you can even see the hilltops of Corsica. We are a group of 8 people who live here permanently, along with others who come for shorter periods.

The farm has been cultivated organically for many years. We have horses, chickens, and 2 pigs. We are planting a large vegetable garden that we hope will supply most of the vegetables for the farm throughout the year. We are very interested in permaculture and apply its principles to our work on the land.The work varies depending on the season and what needs doing. It could include working in the vegetable garden, caring for the animals, maintaining the farm, or helping with woodland management. We are looking for people who are motivated, practical, and happy to contribute to different tasks. The work is hands-on and outdoors, and you will learn about organic farming and permaculture in a beautiful setting.Accommodation is in a room, shared with others depending on the number of volunteers. Meals are provided and shared together, using produce from the farm whenever possible. The atmosphere is communal and friendly, and you will be part of a small, dedicated group of people who are passionate about sustainable living.
