Farm and agritourism in the province of Siena, Tuscany 🌿

Location: Sovicille, Italy

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We are a farm and agritourism nestled in the protected area of Montagnola Senese, in the heart of Tuscany. Our home is a collection of restored ancient houses, sitting on the hills at an altitude of 430 metres, surrounded by chestnut and oak forest. The views are rolling, green, and timeless. Siena is 20 kilometres away, and San Gimignano is just as close, both accessible by public transport, so you can easily explore these beautiful historic cities on your days off.

We organise and host courses, meetings, and seminars on themes around Hatha yoga, meditation, natural medicine, the environment, martial arts, and other practices that connect body, mind, and nature. The atmosphere here is calm, reflective, and deeply rooted in the rhythms of the land. Our guests come to learn, to rest, and to reconnect, and we are looking for someone who can help us keep this place running smoothly.

The farm has 11 hectares of land, of which 8 hectares are woodland. We have an organic fruit orchard and a vegetable garden that supplies much of our food. We also have a dog, two cats, and a peaceful, simple way of life. The meals we share are vegetarian, mostly made from what we grow ourselves, and we eat together in a spirit of community and gratitude.

We need help with various aspects of daily life on the farm and in the agritourism. This includes tending the vegetable garden, maintaining the grounds, helping with general cleaning and housekeeping, and occasionally assisting with guests, whether that means welcoming them, showing them around, or helping with course preparation. The work is varied and you will be part of a small team, so flexibility and initiative are valued.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
We expect around 4 to 5 hours of work per day, spread across the week in a way that balances the needs of the farm with your own energy and interests. Some days you might be working in the garden, other days you might be cleaning the guest rooms or helping with the preparation of common spaces. There are no strict routines here, just a flow of tasks that need doing, and we adapt based on the season and what is happening at the time.
LIVING ARRANGEMENT
You will have your own single room, a quiet and private space where you can retreat and rest. All meals are provided, mostly vegetarian and organic, and you are welcome to join us in the kitchen if you enjoy cooking. We eat together as much as possible, sharing stories and conversation around the table. WiFi is available, though the connection can be a little slow in the countryside, which some people find refreshing.

We speak some English, but this is also a good place to practice Italian if you are interested. The household is peaceful, respectful, and friendly. We value people who are independent, responsible, and happy to contribute to the collective well-being.

The minimum stay is flexible, but we prefer people who can stay for at least a few weeks to really settle into the rhythm of the place. Longer stays are very welcome, especially for those who feel drawn to the slower pace and the beauty of the Tuscan hills.
