PROJECT DESCRIPTION
TO VOLUNTEERS.: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY EVEN IF LONG. ASK MORE INFORMATION ALSO IN OTHER LANGUAGE BECAUSE MISUNDERSTANDING IS EASY AND DOESN'T HELP AT ALL.
The house was built by my grand grand mother. She was a widow with ten children. They settled here because the soil was good for rising vegetables and a source of water was available. Then they built the house with mud bricks made by themselves. I heard this story when i was a child and it remains in my heart. Now that i live here , i have a dream: giving new life to the house opening to other people and creating a new kind of family here. At present I’m retired from school, I could need help for heavy or difficult stuff.
I don’t expect volunteers to do more than 15 hours per week but, when we've agreed together a to do list they could continue the work even if i'm not there.
Work is about cleaning , house keeping, repairing items, ...
I've been restoring part of the house where we live in the last two years. So two guest rooms and a second bathroom are available downstairs. At present I’m hosting a friend. But he’s looking for something else.
. The house and the land around is very big and many spaces inside and outside are not used anymore . The potential is wide but italian economical situation, laws and taxes, climate changes are to consider before going on with the project.
That's why i need volounteers with cheap ideas maybe coming from previous experience.
languages spoken are italian, French/English. Learning Spanish/German.
My son Willy, aged 32 now works abroad so he will not very often. That's why i'm thinking about a man's help now.
In return volunteers receive food and accommodation in own room with bathroom plus free wifi.
For a coffee, breakfast and lunch volunteers could also go to the cafe-restaurant next door. The staff is young and the place is lively with newspapers to read. The length of stay could be max 7/15 days
Volunteers can borrow my bicycle but there is also a bus stop in front of the house and, apart the cafe’, there’s a gasoline pump in front. Super easy to hitchhike.. We live just 3 km far from town.
Next to the house there is a bar serving meals for lunch too. Gazoline pump in front
The valley were we live is very green and lots of small nice villages with castles and Romanic
churches on top of the hills.
