Workcamps 🌿🏡 in Upper Swabia, Germany
Location: Duernau, Germany
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
After a two-year break, we are continuing the twelve-year tradition of our Summer Workcamps. We are looking for people who are genuinely interested in a learning and working atmosphere, where lively exchange and shared experiences are at the heart of everything we do.
Our experiences from the last years have shown us that more and more people register for our workcamps with a primary interest in tourism. We are not the right place for such people. We want participants who are ready to work, learn, and contribute to our community projects. With this in mind, we are happy to receive your application and would appreciate a short explanation of why you would like to take part in our camp.
PLACE
Dürnau is a small village in the heart of Upper Swabia, nestled between Stuttgart and Lake Constance. The nearby Federsee nature reserve, the proximity to the Danube Valley, and the short distance to the Alps offer a multitude of possibilities for lovely and meaningful leisure activities. It is a peaceful, rural setting with rich natural beauty and cultural heritage.
ACTIVITIES
The tasks of the Workcamp focus on the upkeep and care of the community grounds and the support of various ongoing projects. This year we envision the following tasks:
- Continuation of the network of garden paths
- Uprooting and replacing hedges, berry harvesting
- Dung removal and composting
- Hay harvesting
- Help with construction work
- Assistance with dishwashing and cleaning up after meals
In case of bad weather, participants can help with simple construction work indoors.
FREE TIME
In addition to access to sporting activities like kayaking, bike tours, and mountain trekking in the Danube Valley and the Alps, we can offer participants short courses in bookbinding, paper marbling, making beehives, bread-baking, butter-making, and canning methods. We can attend performances, create videos, and offer advice for theatre groups. Climbers are especially welcome.
Send us your application and tell us why you would like to join our Workcamp. We look forward to meeting you. 🌻🌲✨
