Eco-education and creativity centre on Brač Island, Croatia

Based in Milna on the Croatian island of Brač, the charity Gea Viva is in the process of setting up a place of inspiration, encounter, and creativity. The site welcomes visitors and offers events, seminars, and courses. Its 1.4-hectare site brings together contemporary spirituality and eco-education by finding new ways of relating to the seen and unseen aspects of the Earth. Local people and tourists can learn about and evolve permaculture, ecological construction, healthy living, geomancy, arts, and crafts.The site is located in an olive grove, a 15-minute walk from the sea and the village. At present, we are constructing a summer kitchen, repairing dry-stone walls, improving shower and toilet facilities, and working in the permaculture garden. This is what we need help with. Four hours of work per day are required in exchange for free accommodation and vegetarian meals. Working hours differ across the seasons, and we can arrange this jointly.So far, the site has basic camping facilities, including a kitchen tent, compost toilet, and solar shower. There is also a stone circle auditorium, a pavilion for events, a giant mosaic dragon, a Venus flower, a dog, and a donkey. Accommodation is in tents, and the atmosphere is simple, communal, and deeply connected to nature.
