Help wanted on a hillside farm in Stolat, Bulgaria 🌄🐴

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We are a British couple who have just moved to Bulgaria after living for 10 years in South Turkey. We are now settled in a beautiful hillside home just outside Stolat, a tiny hamlet in North Central Bulgaria, on the edge of the Stara Planina Mountains at 520 metres above sea level. The views are stunning, looking out over the valley below with Sevlievo in the distance.
We are off the beaten track, surrounded by nature, wildlife, and peace. It is the perfect place for anyone who loves the outdoors, animals, and the quiet rhythm of rural life.
- Clearing fern, scrub, and trees from a field to create a horse arena
- Building wooden post and rail fencing around the arena and fields
- Creating covered shelters from local wood for the turnout fields
- Clearing overgrown fields and orchards, removing weeds, and taking down dead or dying trees
- General gardening, weeding, and seasonal fruit picking
- Helping in the house with cleaning, dusting, window cleaning, and general kitchen help
- Playing with and walking our dogs, and occasionally helping with horse care
We ask for 4 to 5 hours of help per day, 4 to 5 days a week, with flexibility depending on the weather and the projects. The work is physical and varied, and we are looking for people who are motivated and happy to get stuck in. If you are a good, experienced horse rider, you can also help ride out with us.
We have two wonderful dogs, Ash, a mature female German Shepherd, and Sindie, a young female Golden Retriever crossed with Kangal. They both love to be brushed, walked, and played with. We also have three adorable cats and horses on the property.
The area is rich in wildlife. You can spot deer, wild boar, rabbits, and many bird species while exploring the natural beauty of the region. Nearby towns include Sevlievo, Gabrovo, and Veliko Tarnovo, all offering history, culture, and local charm.
Minimum stay is 2 weeks, and maximum stay is 3 months.

We offer full board, including all meals and good accommodation. The room is comfortable, and you will have access to WiFi for staying in touch with friends and family.
