Bio Farmstay & Food Forest in Rural Thailand – Sustainable Living & Cultural Exchange

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Experience authentic rural Thailand while becoming part of the Volunt2Thai community in the peaceful countryside of Northeast Thailand.
Our Bio Farmstay and Food Forest Project combines sustainable living, practical farm activities and cultural exchange. Volunteers can help with planting and caring for trees, gardening, maintaining the Food Forest, working around the farm and supporting small community projects.
The Food Forest was established to restore local biodiversity and create a sustainable source of fruit, herbs and other useful plants for the community. Volunteers can learn about tropical plants, traditional Thai agriculture and sustainable food production while enjoying the simple rhythm of rural village life.
This is an opportunity to step away from busy tourist areas, live close to nature and connect with local people. You will also have opportunities to explore Thai culture, enjoy local food and participate in activities with the Volunt2Thai community.
No professional farming experience is required. What matters most is motivation, a willingness to get involved and an open mind.
Accommodation, meals, drinking water and local transportation are included.
Come to rural Thailand, work with nature, learn something new and experience genuine Thai village life!
Typical activities may include:
* Planting and caring for trees and plants
* Gardening and basic farm maintenance
* Watering, mulching and preparing planting areas
* Maintaining the Food Forest
* Helping with simple community and environmental projects
* Supporting other seasonal activities around the campus
The exact activities depend on the season, weather and current needs of the project. Tasks are explained and supervised by the Volunt2Thai team, and no previous farming experience is required.
The remaining time is free for relaxation, cultural exchange, exploring the local area or participating in activities at the Volunt2Thai Campus.
**This is a cultural exchange experience, not paid employment.**
Accommodation is provided in simple, comfortable **private bungalows or family rooms** on the campus. Rooms include basic furnishings, bedding, electricity and access to shared facilities. Air conditioning is available at an additional cost.
Participants share communal areas such as the outdoor kitchen, clubhouse, garden and other campus facilities. There is also a library, language café, music room, table tennis room and other spaces where participants can relax and meet other volunteers and local people.
**Full board is included:** breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinking water.
The campus is located in a peaceful rural area, approximately **1.5 hours from Udon Thani**. This is genuine village life rather than a tourist destination, making it ideal for people who want an authentic Thai cultural experience.
Local transportation is provided for project-related activities and shopping trips. Participants are expected to respect Thai culture, the local community and the shared living environment.
