Strays Dogs 🐾 rescue shelter need help Kedah Malaysia

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This is a non-profit organisation doing stray dog rescues. I was a volunteer for this NGO before the ex-council decided to close this shelter down. The decision was made in just one day. It was too sudden, and they decided to put to sleep all the disabled furkids. They are disabled but they are happy living there and love food. I don't think they want to die. This is the reason why I went from being a volunteer to becoming the principal of this poor and small shelter.
Only two of us, we don't have one day rest. We work for them 365 days for the furkids in the shelter. We really hope that we can have someone who is willing to spend time with them, helping us in shelter daily care and also giving the furkids some company.
Tasks include daily cleaning work: cleaning cages, cleaning floors, cleaning pee and poo with a shovel, washing dishes, helping bring food to every cage, and also helping with bathing dogs, cutting nails, and playing with dogs after the daily cleaning and feeding tasks are finished.
All of them are vaccinated.
Volunteers will have 2 days off after 5 days of work.
In my house, the TV, living room, dining room, and kitchen are all available for you to use. However, I prefer not to share the washing machine for hygiene reasons. There is a self-service laundry shop just nearby, less than a 5-minute walk.
Our place is a quite local place, not a touristic area. But we have a mangrove forest nearby, and also a small archaeology area with a small archaeology museum called Lembah Bujang. You can find some details online.

We are not very far from Penang Island. From our place to Penang Island, you need to take a train or bus to Butterworth Station, which costs around RM3.80, and at the same station there is a ferry terminal. Take a ferry to Penang Island for around RM1.20, and you will arrive exactly in Georgetown, Penang Island. Usually volunteers go in the morning during their day off. They follow our car to the shelter, but we drop volunteers at the station before we arrive at the shelter, so they don't need to find their own way to the station and can get on the bus or train easily to discover Penang Island.
We are not able to provide every meal. But we have milk, bread, jam, oats, cereal, and others for you to have breakfast at home. A simple brunch is also available at the shelter.
After coming back from the shelter, volunteers can cook or buy food nearby by themselves. My housing area is very convenient with a lot of shops, Lotus's supermarket, and also a shopping mall, just about a 5-minute walk away.
Volunteers are allowed to cook in the kitchen and of course allowed to use our fridge. Just make yourself at home.
There will be a room for you, and it has a bathroom inside. So you don't need to go to the living room's bathroom to shower or use the toilet. You can have more privacy.
Are you okay with my dogs at home that are seriously afraid of strangers? They need more time to get close to you. The volunteers who visited before found that the dogs at least need a few days to get used to their stay.
They look aggressive sometimes when they bark towards you, but this is because they are afraid to see strangers in our house. It takes some time, and a big tip is to give them more food. Food is always a good way to make friends with dogs.

There are 6 of them. Although they are in my house, all of them are also rescue cases from the streets. For some situations, I rescue them and they stay at home but not at the shelter.
First: Girl, Jing Jing. This is the first dog in this house and she is very friendly and loves all humans.
Second: Boy, Bobo. A little bit afraid but will get used to strangers very fast.
Third: Girl, Ola. Super super afraid of strangers and barks very often.
Fourth: Boy, Guai Guai. Afraid of strangers and will always hide under the sofa. The key to unlock his heart is a comb to comb his big fat ass.
Fifth: Boy, Mong Mong. Always afraid of strangers but only stays outside of the house. He is afraid of Bobo and feels more comfortable staying outside.
Sixth: Girl, Sing Sing. Very crazy and very afraid of strangers, also likes to bark. Sing Sing is the one that loves all types of food, even plain bread she will love to eat. Every morning when volunteers go downstairs for breakfast, Sing Sing looks aggressive, but when volunteers start having breakfast, she waits beside them to see if anyone can give some food to her.
They are afraid of strangers and need more time to get used to new people. This is why I set the minimum stay to 2-3 weeks. If there are always new guests, they need time to get used to new people and I will be very busy helping to handle them every time a new guest arrives. I am not able to be around all day long to handle dogs at home for volunteers who are very afraid of dogs in my house. For our place, we are totally filled with dogs, no matter in the shelter or in the house. When dogs don't get close to you, you can't really help in this task.
They will not get used to you automatically after days. This requires volunteers who really love dogs and are willing to spend time with them, stay in the same space, and play small games with treats. Food is always the good key to unlock a dog's heart.
From the volunteering programme, I have met many good people who have really soft hearts and are kind-hearted. I can even see love from their eyes, no matter whether they deal with a beautiful, friendly, cute dog or an ugly, sick, disabled, aggressive dog. Their love is equal. 🌟🐕💛
