Off-grid and growing organic fruit farm in Napa Valley, California 🍇

Pope Valley Fruits is a two-year-old family-run organic fruit farm in the beginning stages of growth. We are located in the world-famous Napa Valley wine-growing region of northern California. The farm is remote and off the grid, situated at the edge of beautiful Lake Berryessa, perfect for swimming and boating, with kayaks and a sailboat available. The climate is hot and sunny during the day and cool at night, and the terrain is rugged and hilly.Large projects on the farm include building chicken and goat housing, constructing a root cellar, tending vegetable and herb gardens, maintaining the orchard, harvesting crops, working with recycled materials, and landscaping. Possible non-farm work includes sheet rocking and flooring for volunteer housing, building screened porches, and installing a wood stove.

We work 5 days a week, 6 hours a day. The work is varied and hands-on, and we are fairly flexible with work schedules. We prefer stays of at least 3 weeks. We provide transportation to and from the farm to San Francisco or Sacramento, and there are opportunities for fun excursions to town, the coast, wine tasting, and San Francisco on days off.We provide comfortable housing with 2 people per bedroom, a shared bathroom, and a full kitchen. Meals are mostly organic, and we welcome both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Cooking and cleaning chores are shared. Languages spoken are English and Spanish.
