Volunteer for community-based conservation and climate change adaptation in Costa Rica

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Corcovado Foundation and Climate Change Adaptation Costa Rica, together with the Paquera-Tambor Marine Area for Responsible Fisheries and the Association of Dive-Fishermen of Paquera, are opening an exciting volunteering program in Labors to Adapt to Climate Change in the communities of Paquera and Tambor. This program offers volunteers the opportunity to come and work mainly in the rural community of Paquera, in activities directly related to the efforts of the community to adapt to climate change.
You can make a difference. We need volunteers from all over the world who want to come and help us make a difference for the community of Paquera.
Activities include planting and harvesting fruit trees, weeding, bagging products for fruit protection, collecting waste, preparing products for sale, infrastructure maintenance, environmental education, cleaning and labeling trails, monitoring catches and entering data, installing research plots, collecting data on mangroves, reforestation, and cleaning.
You must be aged 18 or over, in good physical condition, with basic Spanish. You must be friendly, communicative, and able to work for 4 to 6 hours per day. You must also have a medical travel insurance policy for the duration of your stay.
To apply, please complete the volunteer registration form and send it by email at least 2 weeks before your arrival. You will receive a confirmation email, along with a Volunteer Orientation manual with detailed information on transportation, what to bring, and what to expect. WORKING ARRANGEMENT
You can come to volunteer with us at any time of the year. The minimum stay is flexible, and we ask for 4 to 6 hours of work per day. The work is varied and includes conservation work, climate change adaptation, sustainable farming, ecosystem recovery, fishing monitoring, and mangrove conservation.Activities include planting and harvesting fruit trees, weeding, bagging products for fruit protection, collecting waste, preparing products for sale, infrastructure maintenance, environmental education, cleaning and labeling trails, monitoring catches and entering data, installing research plots, collecting data on mangroves, reforestation, and cleaning.

LIVING ARRANGEMENT
All volunteers will stay in the town of Paquera, on the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. Accommodation is in private rooms in our homestay network, an unforgettable experience. The family will provide you with food during your stay. You will have a day off in which you can choose to enjoy the town and its attractions, acquire excursions and other activities, spend time with your host family, or relax at one of the beautiful nearby beaches.To apply, please complete the volunteer registration form and send it by email at least 2 weeks before your arrival.
