We provide volunteer English teachers to schools that meet our criteria of responsible social educators. Knowing that kids achieve a better education if their parents are better educated, our project schools tend to have not only regular schooling for children, but funnel their funds towards educating the low income parents’ educational needs as well. This we hope is a more complete and comprehensive educational strategy for disadvantaged families in Honduras.
Volunteer Information
GEM is looking for energetic English volunteer teachers to place in our project schools. The ideal candidate should be an university graduate or a graduate of an ESL school.
If you do not meet the criteria above but think you have the life skills or enthusiasm to teach English to our students by all means apply.We are also looking for a Math teacher. The applicant should be a mathematics or science major with some Spanish language skills.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with the Singapore math curriculum and have an interest in implementing a pilot math curriculum for grades Pr-K to 2nd Grade in one of our schools. If you think you have what it takes to start a math revolution in Honduras please contact us.
Accommodation fees are about 50 dollars a month. The schools provides meals during school hours. Volunteer must donate book for GEM’s in-house education.
